The Greatest NFL Quarterbacks of All Time (Vote)

From Slingin' Sammy Baugh, who popularized the idea of a gunslinger in the late 1930s, to Joe Montana, who helped develop the West Coast offense, the NFL has seen a lot of quarterbacks who have revolutionized the sport.

Regardless of the advancements a quarterback made in his own era, it takes more than that to be remembered as an all-time great. The first two Super Bowls were won by Bart Starr, and Virgil Carter led the NFL in completion % in 1971. Cam Newton has the record for quarterback rushing touchdowns.

But in order for a player to be ranked among the greatest quarterbacks of all time, his achievements and talent must transcend offensive schemes, Super Bowl victories, and season stats.

Let's look at some of the best quarterbacks who have achieved that. If we focused more on current data, this list may look very different, but since we're judging greatness over the entire history of the game, some newer players have a difficult time ranking near the top.

The football IQ, arm power, footwork, and ability to elude pressure of the following signal-callers were all assessed both numerically and qualitatively. And, as you everyone will agree, wins are not a QB stat, so while winning Super Bowls is a factor, they are not the only one.
