Born and reared in Busan, South Korea, Ahn Jae-hyo shared a home with his parents and older brother. He became well-known as an ulzzang (a phrase for someone with a very gorgeous face) when he was younger and had an appearance on Mnet's 2007 male ulzzang-focused television series 轃미남 아롱사샜. Jaehyo, who has a tattoo on his left arm that was a friend's practice attempt that was later covered with a better design, has described himself as a bit of a "wild child" during his high school years. After reading his father's love letters and discovering their same interests, he eventually discovered his passion of fishing, which was influenced by his father.

Education:

Jaehyo majored in music application at Seoul Arts College but left before graduating to focus on his entertainment career.

Jaehyo Net Worth 2025:

There are differing estimates regarding Jaehyo's 2025 net worth. About $5 million, according to one source, comes from album sales, live performances, sponsorship agreements, and his restaurant "Forest," which he inaugurated in Seoul in October 2021. His music career, TV appearances, and other endeavors are included in another source's $5 million estimate of his net worth. Due to personal endeavors and private investments, exact numbers may vary.

Career:

On April 13, 2011, Jaehyo made his Stardom Entertainment debut as the lead vocalist and visual for the South Korean boy band Block B, releasing their first single, "Do U Wanna B?" Following a 2013 lawsuit against Stardom, the group—which consists of seven members—moved to Seven Seasons, a division of KQ Entertainment. The members are Taeil, B-Bomb, Jaehyo, U-Kwon, Park Kyung, Zico, and P.O. With albums like Blockbuster (2012), Jackpot (2014), Very Good (2015), and H.E.R. (2015), in addition to their Japanese-language album My Zone (2016), Block B earned mainstream success. In 2017, Jaehyo performed the song "Bus Stop" with Naoko Tanaka as part of the Block B Project-1 album in Japan, and he also contributed to the group's vocal line.
Jaehyo was a trainee with Cube Entertainment prior to making his debut with Block B. He was said to have almost made his debut with B2ST (now Highlight), but he denied the claims as being overblown. He is renowned for being camera shy while by himself and has made appearances on variety shows such as Weekly Idol and Problematic Men. Although they are still part of Block B, Jaehyo, B-Bomb, and U-Kwon left Seven Seasons on January 4, 2023, after failing to extend their contracts. He has pursued a number of side projects but has not made his solo debut.

Due to a longstanding knee condition that worsened throughout training, Jaehyo was released early on December 6, 2019, despite having enrolled for mandatory military service on December 20, 2018.

Jaehyo has a variety of hobbies and occupations outside of music:
Business: He owns land in the suburbs where he cultivates crops and developed "Forest," a posh cafe and dining establishment in Seoul.
Photography: He shared his work on his Instagram account and donated all proceeds from his 2018 Momento photo exhibition to charity.
Teaching: He is employed at an English language academy as an assistant teacher.
Poker: Jaehyo has been playing professional poker since 2021. In 2022, he qualified for the Asian Poker Tour and obtained a MJC certification.

Fishing:

Because of his love of fishing, Jaehyo is known as the "best idol fisherman." He first fell in love with the pastime as a means of relating to his father's passions. He made history in the fishing world in 2017 by being the first K-pop idol to appear on the covers of Fishing News and Monthly Fishing 21 magazines in South Korea. He has taught other celebrities how to fish and is a model and honorary media staffer for the fishing gear company Banax Korea. Jaehyo is a trained open-water diver and the owner of an Authorized World Record from the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) for capturing a fish that measured 12.23 meters. He is currently the Korea Professional Fishing Federation's (KPFA) Secretary General as of 2021. Fishing legend Kang Tae-gong also acknowledges him as a master fisherman. Fans have suggested a program called Fishing with Jaehyo, and Jaehyo has indicated interest in starring in a fishing show. He discusses his fishing trips on his dedicated Instagram account, @fishingdol.

Additional Facts:

Jaehyo likes to collect electronic devices and is proficient in video games, baseball, and basketball.
Named "orange" or "tangerine hyung" because of the Korean word for teasing, which means "to peel," he is well-known in Block B for his fun, derpy demeanor and is frequently mocked by other members.
