He went to Chilbo Middle School, where he was an avid choir student and took part in choir contests every year. He was also a member of the student council and the class president. His classmates gave him the cute moniker "Sam-oh Oppa" (Year 3, Class 5 Handsome Oppa) because of how good-looking and nice he was.
Sunoo started out in Chilbo High School, but then moved to Hanlim Multi Art School in Seoul, a well-known school that helps young people get into the entertainment industry. On February 11, 2022, he graduated from Hanlim's Practical Dance Department. This was a big step for him because it meant he was leaving school and starting a full-time career in K-pop.
He showed off his leadership talents and passion of performance while he was a student. He started auditioning for entertainment firms while he was only in 8th grade. Even while he was in school, it was clear that he wanted to make a career in music. His friends said they weren't shocked when he became an idol because he had always talked about wanting to be famous.
Background:
Sunoo was born on June 24, 2003, in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, to a Christian family that was very supportive. There isn't much information available about his parents, however it is said that his father is a businessman and that Sunoo likes his mother's cuisine. His older sister, who is three years older than him, was very close to him when he was a child. She has had a big impact on his interests, such his love of fragrant candles and perfumes.
Sunoo was happy most of the time, but he had health problems as a child that required surgery and made him less able to dance during practice sessions in the early days of his training. But he was able to get through these problems because he was strong and loved performing. Sunoo loved music and performing from a young age. He and his sister would sing and dance along to music shows on TV. He also became interested in hairstyling, thanks to his mother and sister's interests like knitting and cross-stitching. At one time, he even wanted to become a hairdresser.
Sunoo is good at more than just singing and dancing. He is a black belt in hapkido, a good piano player, and he can learn songs quickly, a skill he has worked on since he was in elementary school. He enjoys snapping selfies (up to 50 a day), playing video games, watching Disney movies (especially Leafie: A Hen Into the Wild), and listening to calm music like BOL4's "To My Youth." He also really likes mint chocolate chip ice cream, tteokbokki, and grilled intestines.

Pre-Debut: I-LAND and Training:
Sunoo's path to fame started in 2019 when he entered Belift Lab as a trainee. Even though he came in eighth place in the I-LAND finale with 935,771 votes from across the world, Bang Si Hyuk and a panel of directors chose Sunoo as the producers' pick, making him the seventh and final member of ENHYPEN.
