Three ways in: app, extension, dashboard
Cloaked runs on the web, on iOS and Android, and as a browser extension for Chrome-based browsers and other supported ones. Everything syncs, so an identity you create on your laptop works on your phone once you sign in.
Each one has a clear job. The mobile app is where Cloaked phone numbers make sense: calls, texts, alerts and Call Guard all live there. The browser extension is the part that makes the habit stick, because it can generate a private identity and autofill credentials right on a sign-up form. The web dashboard is the better place for bigger jobs like account settings, tracking data removal and cleaning up old logins.
A note on downloads: Cloaked's official page offers a direct Android APK, but the app stores are the easier way to stay updated. Whatever you do, skip unofficial mirrors. This is software that holds your passwords.
Logging in, and the key you must not lose
Login depends on how your account was created. Some people sign in with a phone number and a one-time passcode. Others use a master password plus a recovery key. If you've forgotten which you set up, start with your phone number or email and let Cloaked steer you to the right method.
The recovery key matters more than it sounds. Cloaked uses a zero-knowledge model for encrypted account data, which means the company can't read it, and also can't rescue it for you. Lose both the password and the recovery key and that encrypted data may be gone for good. That's the price of real privacy. Save the key somewhere safe on day one, and turn on two-factor authentication while you're at it.
Free scan, paid everything else
People searching for "Cloaked free" are usually hoping for a free tier. There isn't one. What Cloaked does offer is a free security check that scans your phone number and shows where your personal information appears across broker and people-search databases. It's a useful wake-up call, but it isn't protection.
Trials are less predictable. Cloaked has promoted free-trial access on parts of its 2026 site, but whether you get one depends on the offer, the sign-up route and the plan. Read the checkout screen, note the renewal date, and remember that cancelling has to happen through whoever billed you: Apple, Google Play, PayPal or Cloaked directly.
If you do cancel, the account can become read-only. Active protections such as data removal, identity shielding, the VPN and insurance stop, though some stored information stays accessible.

Annual billing is the obvious value pick if you're committed. If you only want a password manager, though, you're paying for a lot you won't use.
Where it falls short
The real friction isn't the software. It's your history. If hundreds of accounts already sit on one email and one phone number, Cloaked can't swap them out in an afternoon. Data Removal also takes patience, because each broker site processes requests on its own schedule, and information can reappear later. The dashboard at least shows you progress, so you aren't left guessing.
The other knocks are the ones already mentioned: no free membership, variable trial terms, regional limits and a recovery model that punishes carelessness. None of them are dealbreakers. Together, they explain why this isn't a 4.5.

We think so. Cloaked is one of the more complete consumer privacy products around, and its interface, including a refreshed home screen that highlights risk and recent protection activity, keeps a busy feature set from feeling technical. But a privacy tool only works if you change how you share information, and Cloaked can't do that part for you.
The sensible route: run the free scan first. If what it finds bothers you, subscribe, save your recovery key, and start small. Use aliases for new sign-ups, then move your important older accounts over gradually.
