Most footballers spend their whole careers hoping for a moment like Iker Losada's first one. On August 17, 2019, an 18 year old from a small Galician town came off the Celta Vigo bench against Real Madrid and scored. Celta lost 1 to 3, but the kid had the goal. Seven years later, the more interesting question isn't whether Losada can play at this level. It's why the clubs that own him keep hesitating to find out.
He's 25 now, back at Real Betis after a season on loan at Levante, with a contract that runs to 2029. That is either a player about to settle into his prime or one at risk of becoming a permanent loan name. The evidence points both ways.

The goal that set the bar too high
Losada joined Celta's academy in 2012, aged 11, and climbed steadily. He debuted for Celta B in December 2018 at 17. In the 2019 preseason he trained with the first team and scored in a friendly against Union Berlin, which made him the first player born in the 21st century to score for Celta's senior side.
Then came the Real Madrid goal. It's a brilliant line on a CV and a slightly cruel one, because it created expectations the next few years didn't meet.
Seven years in Celta's waiting room
After that debut, Losada spent most of his time with Celta B in the third tier and later the Primera Federacion. Celta clearly rated him: they renewed his contract until 2025 in May 2022. But they never promoted him to the main squad, and in July 2023 he left after 11 years at the club.
It's hard to read that as anything other than a club deciding he'd plateaued. For a lot of academy players, that's where the story quietly ends.
Ferrol, where it finally clicked
Losada signed for Racing de Ferrol as a free agent in July 2023, and the 2023/24 Segunda Division season changed everything. He was an undisputed starter and finished with 9 goals and 7 assists. That's 16 direct goal contributions from a player Celta had let walk.
It remains his best season, and it's the one that matters most for understanding him. Given a fixed role and a run of games, he produced. That pattern keeps coming back.
Betis bought him, then lent him out
Real Betis paid a reported 1.8 million euros in July 2024 and handed him a five year deal. Under Manuel Pellegrini, though, the attacking positions were crowded. Losada made 15 La Liga appearances and played 612 minutes before being loaned back to Celta in January 2025 for the rest of the season.
For 2025/26, Betis sent him to Levante for the full campaign, with no purchase option attached. That detail is telling: Betis wanted him playing, but they weren't ready to let him go.
What Levante told us
The Levante numbers are modest: 3 goals and 1 assist in 898 La Liga minutes, with an average rating of around 6.6. He mixed starts with substitute appearances, scored in a 4 to 2 home win over Real Oviedo in March 2026, contributed to a 2 to 0 win against Mallorca in May and, awkwardly, faced Betis late in the season.
Fitness interrupted things too. A brief injury hit in August 2025, and a head injury in March 2026 cost him about 10 days. Neither was serious, and he has no history of major long term problems.
Our honest read: Levante was useful rather than decisive. Across his top flight career he has 5 goals and 1 assist in 44 league appearances, by the figures available. That isn't the record of a guaranteed starter at a European level club. It is the record of a player who has rarely had a settled role in La Liga, which is a different thing.

The FC 26 card: a 72 with a long tail
In EA Sports FC 26, Losada's base card is rated 72 overall as a CAM, listed at Levante, with 3 star weak foot and 3 star skill moves. That's a one point drop from his 73 in FC 25. He's had 7 Ultimate Team cards since FUT 21, when he started at 68.
The number career mode players care about is his potential of 82. For a cheap attacking midfielder, that's a genuinely attractive project, and arguably more optimistic than his real world trajectory right now.
Wages, value and our estimate
Available salary data puts his gross pay at Levante at around 1,040,000 euros a year, roughly 20,000 euros a week. Treat that as a reported estimate, not a confirmed figure.
Icon Polls estimates Losada's net worth in 2026 at $4 million to $6 million, factoring in salary, bonuses and his Betis contract. No official figure exists, and footballers at this level rarely disclose their finances, so this is a ballpark rather than a fact.
His market value sits at about 1.3 million to 1.9 million euros, roughly what Betis paid. With a deal to 2029, there's room for that to climb if he finally gets a full season of regular football.
Off the pitch
Losada keeps his private life private. There's no confirmed public information about a partner, and he doesn't share relationship details on social media or in interviews. Internationally, he played for Spain at U18 and U19 level in 2019 and turned out for Galicia in 2024, but hasn't been called up by the senior side.
