Sevilla have spent heavily on strikers over the years, and plenty of them left without leaving much of a mark. Isaac Romero cost the club nothing. Lebrija, Antoniano and a detour to Cadiz
Romero joined Sevilla's academy as a boy, but the club did not keep hold of him. His teenage years took him to CA Antoniano and then to Balon de Cadiz, an affiliate side of Cadiz CF, before he returned to Antoniano in late 2017. His senior debut came on 17 December 2017, off the bench in a 2 to 0 home win.
By 2018 to 2019 he was starting regularly. That was enough for Sevilla to look again, and in 2019 he joined Sevilla C.
Three rungs before the first team

Read that table from top to bottom and the problem is obvious. His first season was the most efficient: four goals and four assists in only 14 league games. Since then the minutes have gone up and the goal return has stayed flat at four a season. The disciplinary record in 2024 to 2025, ten bookings and a sending off, also suggests a forward doing a lot of defensive dirty work.
The Copa del Rey tells a happier story. Across three seasons he has four goals in five cup appearances, including one in two matches during 2025 to 2026. In total he has passed 90 first team appearances for Sevilla across all competitions.
The "accident" people keep searching for
There is no record of a serious off field accident involving Romero. The search term almost certainly traces back to September 2021, when Sevilla confirmed a fracture of his left fibula. It was treated conservatively, kept him out for several weeks, and he recovered fully.
A run of small setbacks
None of his injuries since have been career threatening. The concern is how often they arrive:
- September 2024: an ankle injury that kept him out until early October.
- July 2025: a mild sprain of the internal lateral ligament in his left knee, picked up in preseason training.
- November 2025: a groin problem that cost him about three weeks.
- May 2026: hamstring discomfort that made him a doubt against Espanyol, although he was cleared to play.
For a striker who relies on rhythm and repetition, those interruptions matter. Staying available for a full season would do more for his reputation than any single goal.
Salary and net worth: reported versus guessed
Romero's gross salary at Sevilla is reported at around 3.13 million euros a year, roughly 60,000 euros a week before tax. Sevilla do not publish player wages, so treat that as a reported figure rather than a confirmed one.

Instead, Romero renewed in early 2026 until June 2028.
That renewal protects his value. Sevilla have always been a selling club when the price is right, and a longer contract means they can set that price. If he finds a consistent scoring run and stays fit, the figure goes up. If the four goal seasons continue, the English interest may be as good as it gets.
