Antalya-born, Trabzon-made
Çakır was born in Antalya, but it's Trabzon that shaped him. He played youth football, passed through 1461 Trabzon and then entered Trabzonspor's academy as a teenager. A short loan back at 1461 Trabzon gave him senior minutes before he returned and slowly worked his way to first choice.

He's right-footed and comfortable enough on the ball to start moves from the back, which modern coaches now expect as standard. The less visible strength is organisation. Years of captaining Trabzonspor taught him to run a back line and handle big nights, and that kind of authority is hard to coach into a goalkeeper who has never had to carry it.
